Five generous rooms and three spacious suites are situated in the Main House. In the new Yoga House, built in 2020, there are three additional rooms on the top floor, right next to the big yoga shala.
All rooms and suites offer air conditioning and a ceiling fan, high quality furniture, luxuriously appointed bathrooms, and wonderful views into nature – most of them with a private balcony.

The Vision
We want to offer a place, where you can relax, get in touch with nature and get in touch with yourself.
A place where you can unwind, get new inspirations, and eat healthy food while enjoying barefoot luxury.
A place full of good energy, that respects nature, uses solar power, and offers vegetables from its own organic garden.
A place where less is more, where you can connect with the Sri Lankan culture, and where you can dive into the Buddhist wisdom that the people living here do follow.
The Creation
When the knowledge of hospitality and construction is combined with the knowledge about architecture, organizing, and yoga, something beautiful can be created.
We spent two years of our lives to create Niyagama House. When finding the spot with this beautiful 360 degrees round view, it was still a tea plantation, all the way to the hilltop.
After two years with sometimes up to 60 people working on building this special place, and after many ceremonies for good luck and success on the way, we opened it just after Christmas 2012.

Paradise
Finally I found this wonderful place where I could really come to rest. The daily yoga classes with Elke were wonderful and I learned a lot.
The rooms are beautiful and equipped with everything your heart desires. Every day the staff made them new even in the evening and it smelled very fresh. The massages were great and relaxing. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and professional. I had a wonderful time and will be back :) Thank you Elke!

From a happy Day Guest
Niyagama house is a wonderful experience. First of all the colonial-style house situated on top of a hill -- such a quaint beautiful location! And even more so when you swim in their big infinity pool which stretches into a quiet valley full of bushes, trees and all kinds of birds! They come to drink and swim here. Which indeed makes the place kind of a paradise for nature and bird lovers.
