What is your children, smoking and alcohol policy?Niyagama House is welcoming every guest from the age of 12 years and above, but we can’t offer additional beds in our rooms. We are a non-smoking property (that includes all balconies) with a 'secret' smoking spot below the pool area. We do not offer alcohol in our restaurant, but you can bring your own and we have the fitting glassware.

Do I need a visa?Yes, since 2012 you need to apply for a tourist visa. You can do this comfortably in advance so that you don’t need to wait a longer time in the Colombo airport after arriving. How do I get to Niyagama House?We can pick you up in our own van at the airport for 95 USD. Our driver will wait for you in the arrival hall with your name on a board. The drive will take approx. 1.5 hours and we can add the amount to the final bill. When confirming this shuttle, kindly let us know the arrival time and flight number. Thank you. We also can pick you up from another place. With our van or the tuktuk. Just contact us and we let you know the price.

Is it possible to book a yoga retreat package after my arrival?Yes, you can. We like to offer you the chance to check out the style of the class and the teacher before you commit to a full package. Just be aware, that the Aerial Retreats are limited to seven guests, as there are no more aerial hammocks possible in the room. Also, kindly check in our yoga calendar that the yoga teacher is available during your desired dates.

Is it secure to send my credit card details when booking via your website?Yes, it is absolutely secure as we are using encrypted SSL protocol in all our order forms. This is the latest, most secure technology that encrypts all the details provided in the order form including your credit card details. All servers from our booking engine company are also protected by a firewall against any unauthorized access.

Niyagama House is just out of this world.
I have been back a number of times and each visit opens up new experiences and memories that stay with you long after you have checked out. You can uniquely be at one with nature and yet pop into the city of Galle to walk around the busy streets if you want.
Returning to Niyagama is like stepping back into a secret garden of sanctuary and calm. I love the fact that you experience Sri Lankan smiles and hospitality from the staff and have the comfort of European standards of service, cleanliness and functionality during ones stay.
As a guest you are never ‘over served’ which comes as a welcome relief. You are however attentively served when it suits you. That makes a big difference. I wish there were more places to stay around the world like Niyagama House. As yet I haven’t found any that matches what they do. Well done to Elke and her amazing team.
